Overview of the Buying Process
Generally, there are four stages in the buying process.
- The first person that you need to speak with is a Mortgage Agent at The Mortgage Advisors who can explain the mortgage process and let you know your maximum purchase price and lock in a rate for up to 120 days.
- Next, you need to choose a realtor to help you find a suitable home.
Realtors will help you find a home, negotiate and write up an offer to
purchase. - The next step is to have the home inspected to make sure you
understand the condition of your home and can anticipate any upgrades
or repairs. A certified home inspector can perform this inspection for
you. - The last stop is at the lawyer’s or notary’s office. They will handle all the
legal aspects of the purchase and ensure that your transaction closes
smoothly.
